“As a global transport and logistics company, we have a global impact on both environment and climate – with that comes great responsibility. That is why we have a clear direction for the reduction of CO2 emission with science-based targets. A green and innovative mindset is the key of Danish business culture, and we intend to lead the way in our industry. To get the opportunity to showcase that to the world at Expo 2020 is an opportunity we cannot miss”, says Michael Carstensen, Managing Director – UAE.
“The Danish Business Pavilion is located at the Mobility area at EXPO 2020 and combining green sustainable thinking with mobility is key to the future of transportation. That is why we are very proud to welcome the Danish transport giant DSV as new partner – a global business determined to set the bar high for green transition in the transport and logistic sector”, says Jens Lund, pavilion director.
The Danish Business Pavilion is happy to announce a new partnership with DSV, making the Danish Freight Forwarding company responsible for the entire supply management of non-food products for the Danish Business Pavilion before, during and after the Expo.
Mobility and sustainability are two areas that will be put at the forefront of Expo 2020. These areas fit very well with DSV that continuously seeks to find innovative solutions to green logistics. Heavy transport is a large contributor to the global CO2 emission, and DSV has committed to reducing its carbon footprint by at least 30% in 2030 from a 2019 base year.
By investing in research and exploring new possibilities of how to do transport and logistics, DSV leads the way to innovative and sustainable solutions for urban mobility.
About: DSV was founded in 1976, when 10 independent trucking companies joined forces under the name “De sammensluttede vognmænd”, meaning the united hauliers. In the beginning the company operated purely as a cartage department, but during the next decades the vision and scope was expanded to broader transport and logistic activities. In 2000’s the expansion takes flight. Today the company is present in 80 countries worldwide, and in 2019 DSV became the world’s fourth largest freight forwarding company with more than 60.000 employees worldwide.
